Lataben lived with Type 2 Diabetes for over 30 years. Her eldest brother Ajitbhai suffered from Type 1 Diabetes. Her granddaughter Raina was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes 1 year ago. 

Lata loved her grandchildren and was always supportive. When Team Raina walked in the JDRF OneWalk last fall, Lata, Raina's Mom-mom, hosted the lunch afterwards and supported Raina from her wheelchair. The entire family rallies behind this cause.
