Our team, Sugarcoated, is walking to end type 1 diabetes (T1D) - working to make diabetes research obtainable and a little sweeter, step-by-step!

When you have T1D, your body stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. Managing the disease is a constant struggle that involves monitoring your blood-sugar level, administering insulin, and carefully balancing these insulin doses with your eating and activity. Even with a strict regimen, people with T1D may still experience dangerously high or low blood-glucose levels that can, in extreme cases, be life threatening.

With T1D there are no days off and there is no cure. But there is hope. And that’s why our team is supporting the JDRF One Walk this year.

Scientific advances are being turned into therapies that are changing the course of T1D. And together, we have the power to drive these therapies to market as quickly as we can.

Aside from funding research to remove bias in studies, JDRF also offers resources for those living with T1D, classes for newly diagnosed families, sponsorships to diabetes summer camp, support bags for kiddos, and so much more. They have made a dramatic impact In my life and i am here to pay it forward so thaT they can continue to do what they do.
