About JDRF One Walk®

We're the walk the walk type

Each year, JDRF One Walk brings together more than 900,000 people across the country to change the future for people living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). This fun, family–friendly event gives people with T1D—and their friends, family and co–workers—the opportunity to raise money for life-changing T1D research. They walk to help JDRF ease the incredible burden of this disease for the millions affected, until we create a world without T1D. Register for JDRF One Walk today and help us turn Type One into Type None.

We're the accelerating breakthroughs type

JDRF funds research that transforms the lives of people with type 1 diabetes (T1D). We want a cure, and we won't stop until we find one. Along the way, we will continue to drive scientific progress that delivers new treatments and therapies that make day-to-day life with T1D easier, safer and healthier.

Our plan is to create a future where...

The burden is eased all day, and you sleep safely through the night

Diabetes doesn't bring other health problems

Beta Cell Replacement

You can skip counting carbs for months at a time

(including Smart Insulin)

Highs and lows are kept in check

Producing your own insulin doesn't require a second thought

T1D can be prevented and will never threaten anyone again

We're the make things happen type

With more than 200 JDRF One Walks across the country each year, there's always an opportunity to get involved. You can start or join a team, walk alone, or even volunteer. And if you can't attend your local JDRF One Walk, or want to walk with someone who is far away, you can choose to walk virtually.

We're the everyone is welcome type

There are three types of JDRF One Walk teams: family, corporate and schools/youth organizations. Family teams aren't limited to family members—they can include friends, coworkers, classmates and neighbors. Corporate teams are created by companies who want to support T1D research, but just like family teams, anyone can join, even non–employees. You can also encourage your child's school or youth organization to start a team—it's a great way to build awareness at an early age.

No matter what type of team you're on, walking with others is beneficial. Teams generally raise more money, rally more support and awareness for T1D and make JDRF One Walks even more enjoyable. To start a team, just register as a team captain and invite anyone you like.

Once you register, you'll have access to your online Participant Center, where you'll find tips, tools, email templates and more—everything you need to help you raise money for T1D research.
