Family teams aren’t just limited to family members! Groups of friends, coworkers, community and civic organizations, towns, and even whole schools have found that banding together is an effective way to increase the amount of money they can raise for T1D research.
All you need to start a family team is someone to register as a team captain. Team captains receive additional training and support from JDRF to recruit walkers, build camaraderie, and maximize their team’s fundraising potential.
JDRF chapters have family team coaches who provide advice and assistance. Working with a family team coach is a great way to get new ideas for your family team from someone who is doing exactly what you’re doing—raising money for JDRF and T1D research!
