2016 marked Advance Auto Parts' 23rd year supporting JDRF's efforts to create a world without T1D. To date, Advance Auto Parts has raised more than $42 million for JDRF. With over 5,200 stores, over 100 Worldpac branches and serving approximately 1,300 independently owned Carquest branded stores in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Advance Auto Parts Team Members are tireless in their efforts to give back to the communities in which they live and work.
Ford Motor Company
Ford Motor Company has supported JDRF since 1983. In 1998, Ford expanded this relationship with the creation of the employee-driven Ford Global Action Team (FGAT), combining the passion and power of Ford employees, families, and friends, as well as key business partners from WPP, Mazda, BP, ADESA and the UAW. With tens of thousands of volunteers working together, the FGAT has consistently raised more than $3 million annually over the past fourteen years. Under the leadership of Edsel B. Ford II, and more than 90 fundraising teams across 40 global sites, Ford has raised over $54 million to advance our shared goal to create a world without T1D.
Lilly Diabetes is proud to serve as a national Elite partner. For more than 90 years, Lilly Diabetes has been committed to meeting the everyday needs of people with diabetes through medicines, support programs and more. Lilly Diabetes has supported JDRF's vision of a world without T1D for more than 16 years by sponsoring JDRF Walks and other programs. Lilly Diabetes has contributed more than $4 million directly to T1D research since 2008. This support has most recently been through program partnerships with JDRF that are focused on T1D research projects within academic institutions and biotech companies. These partnerships are designed to support and advance promising T1D research projects with translational potential.
Marshalls has partnered with JDRF since 1994 and has raised more than $29 million through in-store fundraisers to support JDRF's goal to create a world without T1D. Marshalls employees also volunteer with their local JDRF chapters and create teams for JDRF One Walk. Marshalls is one of the nation's leading off-price family retailers, with more than 900 stores spanning 43 states and Puerto Rico.
Since 2000, Novo Nordisk—a global healthcare company with more than 90 years of innovation and leadership in diabetes care—has been a valued Elite partner. In that time, the company has contributed an amazing $28 million to JDRF. In addition to participating in JDRF One Walk and JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes, Novo proudly funds TypeOneNation.org, co-sponsors our T1D Care Kits and sponsors JDRF Children's Congress. The company also supports JDRF's new PEAK program, which educates the T1D community on the importance of informed exercise.
Walgreens has partnered with JDRF since 1992 and has raised more than $30 million dollars in support of JDRF's mission to create a world without T1D. Walgreens generates funds for JDRF through a consumer-driven campaign in more than 8,000 locations in the United States and Puerto Rico. The company also sponsors JDRF One Walk in several markets and offers an internal employee giving campaign to support JDRF.
