Hello and thanks for checking out my web page!  I'm doing it again- a 100 mile bike ride starting in La Crosse, WI traveling along 1 river and through 3 states.

In April 1965, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes.  For the past 48 years I have been dependent on insulin injections or an insulin pump and multiple finger pokes a day to maintain my health. And that is just the start of it. Add diet, exercise, Dr. appointments .... let's just say there is a lot to it.

I am not one to sit by and hope there will someday be a cure for diabetes. It's not "if" but "when" a cure for Type 1 diabetes will happen. 
To find a cure we need funds.
To raise funds I am reaching out to you.

In exchange for your donation I will train throughout the summer with my fellow MN/ND Loon-A-Tics for a century ride that is exhilarating, uplifting, challenging and satisfying!

Each year we are closer and closer to the cure. In its most recent charity ranking (November 2012), Forbes Magazine noted that JDRF was one of the 5 best charity organizations based on efficiency..."a tightly run organization that puts almost every dollar spent to work curing disease..."
 
There are times when I become very tired of the regimen that this disease requires of me and the thousands of others, from very young babies to the elderly. Living with Type 1 diabetes requires that we be diligent day-in and day-out, around the clock, to stay alive and as healthy as possible. However, I always have hope because of JDRF and friends like you.

Thanks for supporting me. Thanks for supporting JDRF. I want to be around for a long time to spend time with you, with my wife, my children, my 2 beautifaul granddaughters and others yet to come.
