Join me in the fight to cure, better treat and prevent type 1 diabetes!

Hello! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Ride to Cure Diabetes, along with hundreds of other riders across the country to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D).  If you ask people with T1D, they will tell you it is difficult and life threatening.  And they know it never goes away.

I’m writing to ask for your support for a very special cause—to improve the lives of every person affected by type 1-diabetes (T1D).

I am impacted personally, everyday, with T1D, along with very close friends and dear family living with T1D.  Many of you know I also lost my brother, Gary, (pictured) due to complications related to T1D. A wonderful soul, super talented artist, brother, father, friend; loved by many… truly missed.

My heart ache has become my passion.   In my brothers honor and memory I will be taking part in the JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes, along with a half-million others nationwide.

JDRF raises vital funds that power the global movement to help cure, treat, and prevent T1D. I’m asking you to help support my fundraising efforts with a donation. Your tax-deductible gift will help make a difference in the lives of people with T1D.

    Did you know:

    • T1D is an autoimmune disease that comes on suddenly and strikes both children and adults at any age.
    • T1D has NOTHING to do with diet or lifestyle  (often confused with Type II)
    • Those living with T1D must test their blood sugar 6-10x/day by pricking their fingers to draw blood.
    • T1D is 24/7; at all times, carefully balancing insulin intake with what one eats and daily activity, day and night.

As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat, and prevent T1D.  JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered

It is faster and easier than ever to donate. Simply visit ride.jdrf.org and search for my name to donate online. If you prefer, you can mail your gift check to me at the address listed below. Please make the check-out to JDRF and include my name in the “Memo” section.

Any amount, great or small, helps JDRF get closer to its goal to improve the lives of every person affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D.

    Sincerely,

    Jo Fasen

Thank you for helping me honor my brothers memory and your generous and tax deductible support!
