Join me in the fight to cure, better treat and prevent type 1 diabetes!

This is my 2nd year to participate in the "Ride to Cure Diabetes" in Lake Tahoe, CA.  I rode this ride in 2013 for the first time and not only was it one of the toughtest bike rides I've ever done, it was one of the most rewarding events I've ever participated in.  I was able to ride with a local teenager, Austin Dixon, who has Type 1 Diabetes and we both crossed the finish line together.

As many of you know, I have been working for the past 6 years with the JDRF organization.  In July of 2014, I will become the President for our local Northwest Arkansas Chapter and will remain in that role for 2 years.  In addition to my normal work with this organization, I have decided to participate in another fundraiser this year.  In September 2014, I will be joining hundreds of other volunteers around the country to ride my bicycle for 72 miles in Lake Tahoe, CA.   JDRF sponsors several other rides around the country and I have chose this one because it is one of the toughest due to the terrain and mountains.

Join me in the fight to cure, better treat and prevent type 1 diabetes!

I am asking for your support.  Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts.  By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes.

My goal this year is to raise $4,000 by September.  Whatever you can give will help me achieve that goal.  No amount is too small and the best news is that this money goes towards improving the lives of all those people living with type 1 diabetes.

    Did you know that:

    • T1D is an autoimmune disease that comes on suddenly and strikes both children and adults at any age?
    • T1D has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle?
    • Those living with T1D must carefully balance insulin doses with eating and daily activities throughout the day and night?
    • Those living with T1D must test their blood sugar by pricking their fingers for blood 6 or more times a day?

As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D.  JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered.

    Thank you for your support!
