Welcome to my JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes Page!
February 8, 2008..I will never forget that date. It was the day that Brenna was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. From the doctors' office, to the hospital, to the phone calls I made to family and friends, I knew our lives had changed forever. I think back on that day with love and admiration for Brenna; so brave and so strong, while I wept. We have all come a long way. Brenna has not let Type 1 diabetes slow her down. Her attitude on living with this disease is positive and encouraging. She does not complain much, although I know it is hard to live with Type 1 day after day. She has just finished her Junior year at Lehigh University, doubling majoring in finance and supply-chain management. She is heading to NYC for an internship this summer with PWC. She's 21, and one of the most impressive young adults I have ever known!
I’m taking part in the JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes, along with hundreds of riders from around the world, to raise money for JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. I will be riding in Nashville, TN and biking 62 miles. Brenna's older sister, Claire, and her boyfreind, Kevin Barr will be joining me!
I have been hard at work training and your gift today will propel me toward the finish line. Please donate and help JDRF achieve its goal of a world without T1D.
Thank you for your support :)
