I ride for Holland, Ned and Bridgette Schutt and the countless other children and adults living with T1D. The Death Valley Ride on October 19 is going to be a true challenge for me, but no more than those living with this disease face every minute of every day. They go to sleep thinking about it and wake up with it immediately on their minds. They never get a break. Holland was diagnosed at age 2 and will have lived with T1D for 12 years when I ride in October.
This is why I ask you to support me and my efforts to ride 105 miles in Death Valley. I truly believe the research dollars are bringing us closer to the cure. Until that biological cure comes, in the words of JDRF President and CEO, Jeffrey Brewer, "Less until none." JDRF research dollars have enabled technological advances that strive to lessen the devastating long term complications from T1D and allow those to live healthier lives.
I believe in JDRF and I believe a cure is possible. I am so proud of Holland and how she handles this disease every day and I am even prouder to be riding in her honor.
We sincerely appreciate your support of the Ride to Cure Diabetes and JDRF. Thank you.
Did you know that:
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you for your support!
