

On July 27, to help JDRF find a cure for Type 1 diabetes, I am stepping up my efforts and am going to participate in the Ride for a Cure from Burlington, VT to Vergennes, VT and back. Yep, that is right 73-miles on a bicycle. I am reaching out to you today asking you to donate and support my 73-mile ride!
Why is raising money so important to me?
As many of you know my 9-year old cousin Laurel has lived with juvenile diabetes for the past 3 years.
This past month Laurel started using an insulin pump instead of insulin shots to manage her blood sugar levels. The pump slowly releases rapid-acting insulin, which is similar to how a pancreas works. (see second picture on right to see how it works)
Although the pump should improve her ability to maintain steady blood sugar levels it has been a rough start:
