Franklin, Tennessee—located 14 miles south of Nashville—is an oasis of Southern hospitality in a 16-block National Register district of shops, boutiques, restaurants, and some of the best cycling the South has to offer. The JDRF Nashville Ride to Cure Diabetes Ride will start in Franklin and follow scenic roads through the countryside before entering the Natchez Trace Parkway. This ride offers a challenging out-and-back course with rolling hills, beautiful vistas, and limited commercial traffic. The Natchez Trace, designated as one of the top ten U.S. biking routes, is a historical path that extends roughly 440 miles from Natchez, Mississippi to Nashville, linking the Cumberland, Tennessee, and Mississippi rivers. Riders will access the Trace via on and off ramps, allowing you to enjoy cycling while avoiding stop signs and stoplights. Instead of utility poles and buildings, the Trace is lined with forests, farmland, creeks, and beautiful panorama views, making the route a cyclist's dream.

*Please note, the 2014 JDRF Nashville Ride to Cure Diabetes has a new host hotel and start/finish line location from the 2013 event. The change in location will offer the ability to accommodate more riders and guests while still continuing to ride on the beautiful roads of the Natchez Trace Parkway.
