Thank you for finding your way to my JDRF page!
This year marks my 17th year living an insulin dependent life and my 10th year participating as a cyclist in the JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes. I am dedicated to supporting JDRF because they are dedicated to finding a cure.
JDRF is the leading funder of type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. More than 82% of every dollar donated goes directly to research. JDRF does so well, in fact, that they have been named one of Forbes magazines's top five All-Star charities because of their efficiencies and effectiveness.
I am so thankful for the research and treatment advances that I have seen come to fruition in the 17 years since my diagnosis. Every new treatment is a step closer to a cure. Every step closer to a cure is a little slice of heaven!
Because this is my 10th year riding I am pushing myself to participate in some big ways:
100 miles in one day; I have done it before and I will do it again! I am starting in LaCrosse WI, crossing over to Minnesota and cycling down into Iowa where I will circle around and head back up the river and over the bridge back to LaCrosse. It is a beautiful ride and I am looking forward to it again!
10 new riders on the course with me: how would you like to join my team? Care to go on a bike ride with me? If so, scoot up to the top of the page and follow the links to get registered yourself! The full course is 100 miles and you are welcome to join our team and ride any portion of the 100 miles.
$10,000 in donations: If you don't see yourself on the bike, a donation to help me reach my $10,000 would be greatly appreciated! Collecting donations on my behalf as part of my fundraising team would also be of great help! If you would like to host a party with a purpose or hear of other ways you can help me make my goal, please reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I hope to see you out and about while I am training this summer! Nothing keeps me going like a friendly smile and a wave as I pedal by! Thank you for your support, however you provide it - your kindness moves me more than you know.
