Join me in the fight to cure, better treat and prevent type 1 diabetes!
Hello! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Ride to Cure Diabetes at Lake Tahoe, along with hundreds of other riders across the country to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). If you ask people with T1D, they will tell you it is difficult and life threatening. And they know it never goes away.
Lake Tahoe will be a complete family affair as Lisa, Tyler, and Jeff will all be riding this year. This will be my fifth JDRF ride, Lisa's 2nd, Tyler's 3rd, and the first one for Jeff. Tyler, our youngest, was diagnosed over seven years ago at age 15. It was a big shock when Jeff called earlier this year and told us that he had just been diagnosed with T1D as well. This disease runs on my side of the family. It is very frustrating to know that the risk is there and that nothing can be done to prevent it, and once it happens, there is nothing that can cure it. At least not today......This is why I ride.
I am again asking for your support this year and if you are able, please donate to my fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes. As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D.
Thank you for your support!
