Welcome to my JDRF Ride Page!
I will be taking part in the JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes in Nashville this year with my son Jeff and hundreds of other riders. This will be my 6th ride in as many years and this will be Jeff's 2nd ride. We are really looking forward to the opportunity to ride together in the countryside around Nashville. Both of us have set our goals to complete the 100 mile course while raising as much money for JDRF as possible. JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
Did you know T1D:
- Strikes both children and adults suddenly and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle.
- Occurs when the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. Insulin is essential to turning food into energy.
- Requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on injected insulin.
The fundraising and training is underway, any gift you can give will be very much appreciated! Please donate and help JDRF achieve its goal of a world without T1D.
Thank you for your support.
