In October, I will be riding in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Ride to Cure in Death Valley, CA. My goal is to raise an additional $2,000 for important diabetes research as well as ride a metric century (65 miles) in the desert in one day. This will be my 3rd JDRF ride.
I am riding for our daughter, Rebecca, who has endured the many ups and downs of living with diabetes for the last 9 years. Rebecca is an active 12 year old who tries not let diabetes slow her down.
Each year, new medical advances make living with diabetes easier. However, what we really need is a cure. Along with the daily challenges of managing the disease, diabetes can also lead to many severe and/or fatal complications.
Please consider supporting my ride and helping children, like Rebecca, who desperately need a diabetes cure. No donation is too small. We have paid all travel expenses, so 85 percent of your donation will go directly to diabetic research.
