This October, I will join hundreds of other cyclists in Death Valley, CA. Our goal is to help fund important diabetes research. My personal goal is to raise $4,000 and to ride a metric century (65 miles) in the desert in one day. This will be my 3rd JDRF ride.
I am riding for our daughter and hero Rebecca. Rebecca is an active 10 year old, who has had to endure the many ups and downs of living with diabetes for the last 7 years. Diabetes has had quite an impact on her young life, as well as our family’s life. And there are just too many families currently affected by this disease.
In fact, there are millions of people affected by Type 1 with a growing percentage of them children. Insulin keeps people with Type 1 alive, but it is NOT a cure. Along with the challenges of living with diabetes, it can also lead to many severe and/or fatal complications.
Please consider supporting my ride and helping children like Rebecca who desperately need a cure. No donation is too small. We have paid all travel expenses, so 85 percent of your donation will go directly to diabetic research.
