Greetings! We are asking for your support in a very special cause: The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Diabetes impacts our family and many other families. We are sure that you know a friend or loved one that has been affected by diabetes.
It has been just over 14 years since Sarah was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. She is now a sophomore in college attending the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. She is enjoying her studies along with competing on the swim team. Her insulin routine remains constant with numerous daily blood tests along with several injections that help her maintain proper blood sugar levels. She will continue this regimen until research finds a better way to manage this disease. Or better yet A CURE!
There is good news, a cure for Type 1 diabetes is within reach. JDRF funding and its leadership is associated with most major scientific breakthroughs in diabetes research. JDRF funds a major portion of all Type 1 diabetes research worldwide, more than any other charity.
November 1st.........RIDE DAY……Nashville, TN!!!! We have been training and fundraising for this day all year. We look forward to joining all the other riders and will attempt to complete 100 miles in one day. Fundraising so far has included our annual garage sales. Though these are a lot of work, it gives us an opportunity to not only raise money for JDRF, but to bring awareness of Type 1 diabetes. We have many customers that attend our sale every year, many of which have a personal connection to diabetes. We receive many positive comments and support for what we are doing.
Paul has also started helping Kids in Kinship refurbishing used bikes to sell; they in turn pay it forward by donating their unsold bikes for us to sell. All of this is made possible with the ongoing donations of goods and bikes we receive throughout the year.
We are writing to ask for your support because each of us can make a real difference. Our goal is to continue to raise awareness surrounding Type 1 diabetes and we would love to be able to raise 8,000.00 this year to help in the aid of research.
Together, we can make the cure for diabetes a reality.
Sarah and we thank you in advance for your support.
All the best,
Paul and Candice
