And Yes, it is that time of year again. Time for the Central PA JDRF Ride to Cure team to hit the road and raise a boat load of cash to cure Type One Diabetes. As you know, I am a type one diabetic and I will not stop until there is a cure for this very curable disease. But, that's where I need your help.
I am asking for your support for my 2014 Ride to Cure in Death Valley, CA. I will be riding 105 miles in one day over some of the most challenging terrain in the country.
In years' past, I rode for myself. I wanted to prove that as a healthy type one diabetic that I can and will live a lifestyle like anyone else that is not afflicted with this disease. However, in 2014, I ride for my dad. After fighting off two massive strokes over 8 years, my dad succumbed to stroke related complications last December. If you knew my dad, the 'ole navy man' in him wasn't going out without a fight. I will be taking that fight with me to California in an attempt to tackle one of the most difficult rides in the country and raise money for JDRF.
If you are so willing, please consider donating to my ride. This year, I am looking to raise more than $20,000.00. It is a hefty goal but one that I am going to take head-on like my dad would.
If you would like to donate, please use the easy online donation button above. All donations are 100% tax deductible.
All the best,
