Two rides in one year! Woohoo! In September I had the privilege of riding as a coach with the JDRF Northwest Ride to Cure team in Nashville, Tennessee. I'm back on the road on November 23 in Tucson, helping support the over 200 riders there who will be united by our common goal to find a cure/treatment/prevention for Type 1 Diabetes. Please join us!
My journey to battle this disease started with my brother David's diagnosis in college. Riding and raising funds I've met many amazing people who live with the challenges of Type 1 diabetes evey day. It's a life-threatening disease that never goes away. From this community I have learned about courage, and heartache. I've learned that Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that comes on suddenly, and strikes children and adults at any age. I know people who were diagnosed at the age of 4 and others at the age of 40. Their lives, and those of their families, are never the same.
This will be my ninth Ride to Cure, and I'll continue riding until we turn Type 1 into "Type None!" Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with Type 1 diabetes.
Thanks so much!
