111 Miles for JDRF!
Time to ride again in the 2013 El Tour De Tucson for JDRF! My motivation is simple: my brother Tim and his two kids, Caitlin & Duncan, have Type 1 Diabetes.
I've been humbled by the strength I see in Tim and his family as they deal with this ever-present disease. I've been happy to be a part of showing them that they're not alone in the struggle with this disease - that there are so many supporters who are riding with us - who are cheering us on - who are generously donating financial resources so that some of brightest minds on the planet can conduct research on better ways to treat or beat diabetes - so that their lives will be better.
Your support will fund important research - including more than 44 clinical trials supported by JDRF - but it's also fueling our hope. Our hope that one day Caitlin and Duncan and millions of other kids with diabetes won't have to prick or inject themselves anymore. That one day they will unplug their insulin pumps, toss aside their blood glucose meters and hop on a bike without fear! That one day this stupid disease will be conquered.
Your support will make that "one day" come sooner.
So, come support our ride. Together, we can make the cure a reality!
