Ride2Cure Inspiration - Hadley George
Fun with Hadley and Piper

I will never forget the day my daughter, Hadley George, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D). It has been a crazy, life changing journey. I signed up to ride 100 miles to raise money for JDRF. The bike ride takes place in Lacrosse, WI on August 16th.

Hadley was diagnosed with T1D twelve years ago. She was only four and it dramatically changed her life. Hadley is a fighter and an amazing young lady. She works incredibly hard to raise money and awareness for a T1D cure. It's my turn to spread the word and raise funds! Please help turn Type One into Type None and Donate. It's easy to donate online…

JDRF is the leading organization funding T1D research. They’re committed to finding a cure for this serious autoimmune disease.

Hadley’s my inspiration. She created "Type-One-Teens" to connect teens with T1D in greater Cincinnati to share experiences in a fun/social environment. Last fall she was a panelist at the Diabetes & Innovation Conference in Washington DC and spoke about T1D to more than 500 people. She was elected Ambassador to our Regional JDRF chapter. Hadley also participated in a fund raising event with Tom Brobson. Tom wears an artificial pancreas and is a testament to the great work of JDRF. These a just a few things Hadley does to raise money and awareness for JDRF. There’s hope for a cure!

    T1D Facts

    • Strikes children and adults suddenly and is NOT related to diet and lifestyle
    • Occurs when the immune system attacks and destroys insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. Insulin is essential to turning food into energy
    • Requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing and dependence on insulin injections

Every dollar helps JDRF bring life-changing therapies like the artificial pancreas from the lab to the world.

Again, it’s easy to donate online at

My wife, Lisi, is riding too. We’re both excited to support Hadley and everyone with T1D to raise money for JDRF.

    Thank you for your support!
