Welcome to my JDRF Ride for a Cure webpage!
Back in June, 2013, my daughter Madison was diagnosed Type 1 Diabetes also known as T1D. It was a shock to our family but Madison took it in stride. Madison has become an inspiration to my wife and I and all those she touches. She has a mighty attitude and her mission is to find a cure. Since she has been so strong through all these changes, we could not find a better name for a team for her than Madison's Mighty Mission.
As a father, there is nothing worse than watching your child go through something you can't fix. You can kiss the bumps and bruises. You can calm her at night during thunderstorms, but you can't take the shots or finger pricks. All you can do is encourage her to keep going. It breaks your heart. It makes you feel helpless.
So I have decided that my mission is to help Madison find a cure the best way I can. So John Brofft, Chance Brofft and I have teamed up to raise money in Madison's team name to do the JDRF 100 mile bike ride in Death Valley this October.
The goal I set with JDRF to make this ride happen is to raise $4,000. However, my personal goal is to raise more than this amount in the hope that one day a cure will be found for all children with T1D. This is my way to be helpful to my daughter and to her cause. And every dollar I raise helps all children with T1D continue to bring life-changing therapies from the lab to the community until a cure is found.
Your gift today will propel me toward the finish line. Please donate and help JDRF achieve its goal of a world without T1D. Anything little will help. Please pass this on to friends and families especially those who have Diabetes in their families and suffer from this life changing disease.
Please check back to view my fundraising progress as my Ride weekend approaches. Thank you for your support.
