Friends, family, colleagues, and fellow diabetics: welcome to my fundraising page!
I’m taking part in the JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes, along with hundreds of riders from around the world, to raise money for JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
I have been living with type 1 diabetes for 25 years, so the search for the cure and medical advancement in diabetes is obviously very near and dear to me. There has been incredible medical progress made for us diabetics in the time I have lived with this including the way we test our blood sugars, the type of insulins we use, and the way we administer insulin. Insulin itself was discovered only within this century as the medicine to manage diabetes and before that time, type 1 diabetes was a death sentence.
I am so grateful to foundations like JDRF that raise money for diabetes research so that there are ways to medically manage my condition. While I can't even fathom what a cure would be like as I am now so used to living every day managing my diabetes, I know that JDRF plays a huge role in working toward that ultimate goal.
I am so excited to be a part of this event and am determined to reach my goal of $4000!. Please remember, any donation will put me closer to that goal, even if it's a dollar!
I have been hard at work training and fundraising, and your gift today will propel me toward the finish line. Please donate and help JDRF achieve its goal of a world without type 1 diabetes.
Please check back to view my fundraising progress as my Ride weekend approaches. Thank you for your support.
