Ready to ride!
Jaci after the winning goal!

Welcome to my JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes Page!

I need your help. If you're like me, you probably know someone who lives with Type I Diabetes. If you do, you know how difficult their lives can be, daily shots, restricted diets, constant monitoring of blood sugar, and more.

Now imagine being  a kid and living with Type I diabetes. That's why I'm taking part in the Juvenile Research Foundation Ride to Cure Diabetes on September 5th. My ride honoree is Jaci Carpenter, the beautiful daughter of a friend and collegue who lives with diabetes every day of her life.

You can see Jaci in "Photo 2" on my fundraising page, just after her soccer team won the championship. It's hard to see, but that's her in the back, hoisting the trophy. On this day, Jaci kicked the corner kick that her teamate put in the back of the net for the winning goal!

Now, I'm not much of a fundraiser. But I can ride a bicycle - at least a little. So I've committed to raise $5,000.00 towards finding a cure to help kids like Jaci whose lives depend upon the rest of us helping to find a cure.

Won't you consider helping with a donation?

My ride will be nothing compared to what kids and adults  who live with diabetes are faced with every day of their lives. My ride will last six hours or so - until we find a cure, those living with diabetes wake up facing the challenge of diabetes every day of their lives!

JDRF is working to change this. Every dollar I raise helps them continue to bring life-changing therapies from the lab to the community until a cure is found.

I hope you agree that this is important. That's why I've been hard at work training and fundraising. I'm riding 100 miles a week to get ready - more if I can. Won't you help me achieve the ultimate goal - finding a cure for Type-1 Diabetes? I'd be so very grateful for your support.

Please check back to view my fundraising progress as my Ride weekend approaches. Thank you for your support.
