Welcome to our JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes Chapter Page!

The Austin Ride Team has been riding for 3 years now, and growing strong!

Here's what some of our Riders have said -

“As a Type 1 Diabetic for almost 15 years now, I never thought I’d be able to do something like ride 100 miles across Vermont. But, with a lot of training and support from my family and friends, this goal became a reality for me and our awesome team! I made a lot of great friends along the way and it helped me stay motivated about a hope for a cure for myself and the millions of others affected by Type 1 Diabetes. What an incredible experience. Can’t wait to do it again in the future!” Emily Rhodes 2012

“As an active cyclist for many years I’ve been on a number of charity rides and I have to say this was a very different and amazing experience.  Along the way training I met some amazing people who I call close friends now and together we not only accomplished a big ride in Vermont, but also raised a ton of awareness and money for T1D and JDRF. I can’t think of another event that gives as much for the effort in both helping a great cause and developing the people involved.” Todd Werner, 2012, 2013, 2014

We’re riding our bikes to raise money for JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.

Did you know T1D:

- Strikes both children and adults suddenly and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle.

 - Occurs when the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. Insulin is essential to turning food into energy.

 - Requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on injected insulin.

JDRF is working every day to change this. Every dollar our Ride team raises will help JDRF bring life-changing therapies from the lab to the community until a cure is found.

The JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes makes a difference to the millions of people affected by T1D. You can accelerate that progress with a donation to one of our team members. Just click on a name below. Each of us is hard at work training and fundraising, and your donation will propel us to the finish line.
