As I think back on the 3 years since Cole has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, I could have never imagined this is what it would look like for us.
Cole has owned this disease since the day it came to him. I am amazed that he takes the good and bad and just does it all.
He had an especially difficult year with an appendectomy that went terribly wrong. When he is faced with such difficult times I watch a young man who is so strong in faith and I say "Thank You" to God for giving this boy to our family. When he makes me mad, laugh, cry...fall off my paddle board, or ask me to make him a sandwich right after I sit down...when he leaves his room disgusting and sand on the floor...hugs his little brother, Cade, or plays guitar with Findlay...looks at the ocean...helps his dad in the garage...every little thing he does...good or bad...smart or seriously stupid...I am thankful he is here to do it.
I am trying to help support a cure for this disease because I want him to be here for a very long time. I don't want any other parents, friends, children, anybody really, to have this disease come to their families.
Thank you for any support you can offer. I know times are tight and there are millions of needs in this world. I love you for your prayers, contributions, and continued support for efforts made for a cure.
This year we will actually have a little team running! Thanks for the ladies who are joining me in this event!
Take Care of you...and yours,
