Hello family & friends :)
As many of you know, our son Zurik was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 21 months old in 2006. Type 1 diabetes is a devastating autoimmune disease with many potential life-threatening complications. There was nothing that we could have done to prevent it and it will leave him insulin dependent for life, unless a cure if found.
Over the past 7 years Zurik has endured over TWENTY THOUSAND finger sticks, AT LEAST THREE THOUSAND SHOTS, and more than SEVEN HUNDRED infusion site changes (where a catheter is injected into his skin with a needle for his insulin pump).
Despite all Zurik has to endure, he is a very happy & active kid. Zurik has an amazing imagination & constantly has a million inventions in the works. He loves swimming, science, inventing crazy cool creations and hanging out with his friends.
Because of JDRF, advancements in research, and funding for continued improvements in pump therapy allow Zurik to live the most normal life possible and do all of the things that most people take for granted.
With the 2013 JDRF walk approaching fast, we are graciously asking for your help! Please consider making a donation to help raise money to help Zurik and the millions of other people fighting this disease! We sincerely appreciate your support!
In Zurik's words, "Help us raise money to help doctors fix my pancreas!"
NO amount is too small to make a difference... Serioulsy, E-V-E-R-Y dollar counts!
If you are interested in walking with us, we'd love to have you! The walk is Saturday, October 26th in Tucson, AZ. You can join our team from Zurik's fundraising page. Please let me know if you have any questions! JTZZPR@yahoo.com
