This is Team Toole's JDRF 2013 Walk to Cure Diabetes Page!
Last year, Type 1 Diabetes rocked our world, but we refuse to take it lying down. With your support we can make a difference, starting with the Tucson JDRF Walk for a Cure on October 26th. Groundbreaking research is happening now, and a cure is coming - within Maggie's lifetime, with major developments expected in the next 10 years - thanks to JDRF (the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.) Help us create awareness and fund research for all kids with T1D!

P.S. So many of you have asked how we're doing, and what life is like with T1D.
A little more than a year since her diagnosis, Maggie still pokes her finger a gazillion times a day to squeeze out a drop of blood. People watching say she's brave, and the classic Maggie reply is to smirk and tell them it's a "piece of cake." While having her on a pump since March has been a huge blessing, Diabetes isn't a cake walk - especially for kids who don't have access to the best doctors, medicine, and technology out there. We know how lucky we are as parents, to be able to drop everything to calculate the grams of carbohydrates in every bite she eats, and figure out how exactly how much insulin to give her, down to the drop, every day, forever, until there's a cure. Because we can, our girl can do anything she wants. Anything. Thank God.
Everybody has something. A good friend told me that around the time this all came crashing down, and it was really so meaningful. Thank you, again, for all your support, for caring enough to learn about our "something," and for being there for us, and for Maggie.
