Hello Beautiful Family and Friends =)
Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page!
I began working for JDRF January of 2013. I am not actually walking lol but I will be at the Tempe, AZ (Desert Southwest Chapter) event raising awareness for TID! The money I raise will help JDRF fund critical research to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people's lives until no one has to fear developing the disease.
My grandfather James E. Dozier Sr. (R.I.Paridise) as well as my Uncle Pinky Dozier and cousins are Type 1 Diabetics. I can remember my grandfather checking his blood sugar and taking his insulin (this was 18 years ago) and I would ask him what he was doing, and why he was poking his-self. He never hid it from any of his grandchildren and was very open to why he had to check his blood sugar daily. I did not like to see it, but I knew it had to be done. My grandfather passed when I was 14, he had his leg amputated and went into a coma before he passed. I must say technology has come a long way from 18 years ago, to now. With the strenghth of God and my faith in Him, I am hopeful for a cure. There are so many wonderful volunteers, board members and my co-workers who dedicate their lives to finding a cure and raising funds for T1D. If you have a loved one or just want to support with any amount of donation please click the link to donate! If you want to be a "virtual" walker and join our team: The Walking Angels, please join and help me help others! Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease.
Thank you and many blessing to everyone who took to time to read my story!
