I was wondering today how many people do I know that get that phone call...you know the one. _____ went to the doctor today and was diagnosed with _______ . We can all personally fill in a name and a disease. In our case it was our cousin/nephew/son Bryan.
Bryan was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes in January 2007, he was 14 years old at the time.
The baby of our family was so ill. He was losing weight rapidly and was so thirsty all the time. After a few days of hospitalization he was traveling the road that changed the course of his life forever.
He ran the gamut of emotions and made adjustments to his lifestyle that confused and terrified him.
As his family, we cried buckets of tears, prayed a million prayers and researched this disease like maniacs.
Today the tears aren't filling buckets, we still pray a million prayers and have done enough research to know we have to be proactive and walk the JDRF for a cure.
Many of you have shared this journey with us and have been so supportive and today I am asking for your continued support through a donation.
Thanks to insulin, research and donations, Bryan is doing well. On Nov .3, 2012, we are walking to benefit the JDRF and would love to count on your donation in any amount.
On behalf of Bryan, the JDRF and our family we say THANK YOU!
Thank you for your support, and we will see you on Walk day!
