Welcome to ADDIE'S ARMY home page!
It's been almost a year since we lost our precious and beautiful daughter Addie to Type 1 Diabetes. My family and I will be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country.
We are walking in memory of our daughter Addie Parker. Addie was an amazing, happy and healthy little angel who lost her battle to this horrible disease. Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people, a large and growing percentage of them children. We did not know that she had Type 1 Diabetes until it was too late. With your help, we can fight to make sure that this DOES NOT happen to another family.
JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. JDRF funds more Type 1 Diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.
We are asking you to please spread the word to everyone you know to get THEIR kids tested for diabetes. Diabetes is something doctors and hospitals DO NOT test for uness there is a family history and even then some insurance companies wont cover this minimal fee. You have to request this simple test at an annual check up. The result could mean the difference between the life and death of YOUR child. Isnt your child or loved one worth a simple test?

Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality! Educate yourselves and know the signs! Don't let this horrible tragedy happen to you or anyone you know. There is nothing worse than the loss of a child!
Thank you in advance for your support!
