Dear family and friends,
Thank you to all who have supported JDRF in the past. As a mom of a child with Type 1 Diabetes, it breaks my heart to watch the struggles he goes through because of his disease. But, I am also very proud of the way 17 year-old Jarod, my 8 year-old nephew, Cade and the millions of others affected T1D fight to balance their blood sugars as well as their lives.
I hate watching Jarod and Cade have to test their blood with finger-pokes multiple times a day (and night), inject insulin either through pump infusion sites or by syringes, and have to compensate for blood sugar highs and lows.
I am continually told by medical personnel that a cure for T1D will be found in their lifetimes. I hope and pray this is true. But, in order to do that, we must continue to raise funds and awareness for research that will lead to a cure. If you can help out Team "Cure for Cade and Jarod" with a donation, participation in the walk, and/or prayers I would be eternally grateful!
