Once again Kyle and I will be walking in the Walk to Cure Diabetes to support JDRF in its commitment to cure, treat and prevent Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Our son, Matthew, has had T1D for 17 years now and we are grateful that he is healthy. However, an insulin pump is tethered to his body to keep him alive each day. If he delivers too much insulin, he experiences low blood sugars which can cause him to have a seizure. If he delivers too little insulin, or he feels stressed out or sick, he can become very ill due to high blood sugars. Both extremes can be life threatening.
Over the last 17 years we have seen so many wonderful advancements in the treatment of diabetes through the commitment of JDRF and the amazing researchers they fund. I am writing to ask for you to support us with a small donation. Every little bit helps, whether it is $5.00 or $50.00, your support would help JDRF in its work to fund the best diabetes research in the world. For Matthew and the other 3 million people who live with this horrible disease, we ask for your support.
Thank you for your consideration.
All the best,
Diana & Kyle
