Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page!
On April 28, 1975 I received the news that my May Seminar trip to Germany was out of the question because I was just diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Since then, I've done a lot of things and traveled to a variety of countries BUT diabetes NEVER lets me take a vacation. It's a 24/7 struggle that I've been dealing with for over 38 years. It's time to find a cure!
Type 1 diabetes is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin - a hormone essential to the ability to get energy from food. It strikes both children and adults suddenly and changes life as they know it forever. It cannot be prevented and there is no cure.
On November 2nd, I'll be walking in the JDRF Walk in Tempe, AZ to help raise much needed funds that might just some day make my dream of a cure a reality. As most of you know, Brian is also walking. For the 2 youngest Lyngbys to have Type 1 diabetes is a crappy deal and he's already at 33 years of living with diabetes. He's also kicking my butt in the fundraising! If you've supported him or are walking, Thank You. If not, I hope you'll help by donating something to our cause.
Thank you for your support!
