Again this year we'll be walking with "Kiley's Krew" in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's annual walk at the state capitol on October 7th to raise money to find a cure
By now most of you know about our great-niece Kiley. She is the grand-daughter of my brother Bernie and Sue's sister Terri. She's now in the 4th grade, and, once again, doing extremely well in school. Having been around her several times in the last year, I can personally attest to the fact that there's no grass growing under her feet, in spite of her insulin pump and countless "finger pokes" (even in the middle of the night). So, once again, I'm overcoming my annual abhorrence of asking for money (Sue won't do it) to ask for your help in raising money for JDRF to cure this disease which no child should be burdened with. If you are like me and are reluctant to donate on-line (which you can do at the bottom of this page), you can send me a check at 10298 Skyview Drive, Grass Valley, CA 95949. The check should be made out to JDRF.
There are only three weeks left until the walk.
We appreciate your support and will keep you posted on our progress. In the meantime, if you want to learn more about the advances your support is helping to make possible, please visit the JDRF website at www.jdrf.org
