Did you know we didn't cure polio? We created a vaccine to prevent it. JDRF research is on that path.
I am fortunate that no one in my immediately family has T1D, a 24/7 disease that never takes a vacation. However, I have many friends I've met through JDRF who battle this disease every single day. The youngest is 12 months old, the oldest is 80.
I want to make sure that no one ever has to get a diagnosis of T1D by makking sure JDRF research to create a vaccine is funded. Type 1 Diabetes is on the rise 23% for those under 20 from 2001 to 2009. 40 children a day are diagnosed. And for my friends who have a child with T1D, they know that their other children have a tenfold chance to develop it as well. The good news is that JDRF is pushing the needle with innovative treatments such as the artificial pancreas and smart insulin as well as creating a vaccine. Please help.
On September 3, my second grandchild dRhys Matthew was born healthy. Let's keep him that way!
Once again, I am asking 100 friends to donate $10 each so Cash and Rhys and I can raise $1,000 towards research. I'm starting by donating $25 (I would have done $100 but you know I"m paying for Meredith's wedding as well :-))
JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you for your support!
