Hello everybody! This year, I'll be doing the JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with alot of other people. Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of kids and teens. I found out when I was only 4 years old that my life was going to change.I was going to have to poke my finger 6-8 times a day. I would have to learn what counting carbs was and the worst thing of all to take shots. So after these last 6 years i have accomplished so much. I have learned to listen to what my body tells me. I have tolerated the shots because my mom has told me its my life line. I went to camp for diabetics for a week this year and OMG it was FANTASTIC!! I cant wait to go again next year.
There is some good news, though. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure. Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
Please help me again this year only if you can. Last year I made my goal, and I want to try to make it this year too! I want so much to help find a cure. There are times when i say Mommy, I hate being a diabetic when will they find a cure? or mommy my fingers hurt do i have to poke? She keeps me going by telling me that they will find a cure one day, but for now you have to keep doing it. I Hope you guys can help this year also. Thank you in advance
