This year, I'll once again be taking part in JDRF's annual "Walk to Cure Diabetes" walkathon on April 5th at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach, along with one-half million other walkers across the country in March & April, as we try to fund the research to find a cure for diabetes.
Type 1, juvenile diabetes or T1D as they now like to call "it" is insulin dependent and it is a devastating disease that affects millions of people who have to live with it just like me. Unfortunately, a large and growing percentage of them are babies and younger children.
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more Type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and more importantly a cure.
You can make a crucial difference. Please consider joining my "Team Turner" and giving to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation generously on my behalf for the 2014 "JDRF" Walk to Cure Diabetes" walkathon. Together, we can "Fund the Cure!"
