Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! I'll be taking part in this year?s Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). It is a myth that T1D is a serious condition, but is not life-threatening. It is both. T1D impedes everything from thought processes to pumping blood. It's the leading cause of heart attacks, stroke, kidney failure, blindness and amputation. It *IS* life-threatening and everyone living with it will tell you that is is LIFE-CHANGING! It is a daily challenge and, until there is a cure, it never goes away. Won't you join me in helping to find a cure?
By the time of the Walk (Saturday, April 13, 2013), I will have lived with T1D for over 50 years. I lost a brother (Brian) to T1D six years ago after only 20 years with T1D. Because she had two sons with T1D, the JDRF was our mom's favorite charity. I am also participating in this walk in memory of both of them.
I am working hard to help the JDRF to raise funds to help others prevent this devastating disease. I also hope to live to see a cure for T1D and hope you will help realize that dream by walking with me or making a donation to the JDRF through my 2013 Walk to Cure Diabetes efforts! By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with T1D.
Did you know that:
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you for your support!
