Welcome to "The Sugar Cains" 2013 Team Page!
My son Justin was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on July 6, 2011. His blood glucose reading was 442, and he was immediately admitted to the hospital for emergency treatment. His very first morning in the hospital he was given a backpack full of books, supplies and his very first blood glucose monitor. He even got a little bear named Rufus, the bear with diabetes. This backpack was provided to us by JDRF, and we decided right then that we would support them in any way that we could. We are asking for your help. Please donate to JDRF to help find a cure for Justin.
Each day 80 people are newly diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, and their lives are changed forever. Their normal existence becomes one of needle sticks, finger pricks and carbohydrate counting. JDRF is the largest charitable supporter of research to put a stop to this horrible disease! The money our JDRF Walk Team raises will support this life-changing research.
