Hello again! I feel like the years go by quick when you are asking people for money. This year, as in years past, our family will be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $91 million.
First, I want to thank you for your past donations or support of Gavin as he marches on every day with a zeal for life and a resilience that we have to believe has been influenced by his condition.
Many of you know that as a family we have taken on this disease in a very proactive way, getting involved, learning as much as we can and giving Gavin all that we can to support him physically, emotionally and mentally. Many of you through your contributions once a year have already helped bring better diabetic management supplies to market, and ultimately, you'll have a hand in on the cure to this disease.
Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people, a large and growing percentage of them children.
There is some good news, though. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
This year, we may be doing our team t-shirts for Galvanizing Gavin! Keep you posted on our progress and thanks for all of your support.
