This year, the Moe's team is walking on behalf of 16 year old Nick Ronn. Aside from being an awesome lacrosse goalie, Nick lives with type 1 diabetes. On behalf of Nick and millions like him, we are doing our part to to find a cure.
The money our JDRF Walk Team raises will go directly to support this life-changing research.
The JDRF Walk is a fantastic way to make a difference in the lives of people like Nick who are affected by type 1 diabetes. For at least that one day, they will look around and see all the support they have from their friends, family and community. On Walk Day, everyone can have fun and celebrate how much closer to a cure we are because of their efforts.
Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people, a large and growing percentage of them children. I don't have a personal connection to a child with Type 1 Diabetes. However, I do have a child. It's hard enough being a kid. I could only imagine what it would be like to be a kid and have to deal with this terrible disease every minute of every day for the rest of their life. My daughter will be walking with me on October 19th so that we can learn about and help support this cause together.
JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
