Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! I'll be taking part in this year?s Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). If you ask people with T1D, they will tell you it is difficult and life threatening. And they know it never goes away.
My grandson Sully was diagnosed with type 1 four years ago. He has gone from many finger pokes a day and several injections a day to an insulin pump this past year. The pump helps regulate his insulin{life support} and he only has to have a "poke" when the site is put in every 3 days. This is a best case senerio as things don't always work that way with active kids! He still has the finger tests every day several times. His little fingers are so calloused it sometimes it is hard to get a drop of blood and we have to do it more than once. He is so couragous and strong. He is my Hero and my #1.
Unfortunately I gained a #2 And a #3 this past 6 months as my sister and my cousin's grandson have also been diagnosed with type 1. It is scary to think that in the future there may be more diagnosed with Diabetes than we can produce insulin. I pray for a cure before that would come a reality.
I am asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes.
Did you know that:
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you for your support!
