The Smith's (and one Talaska - Colleen's fiance, Ben)!

Join us, The Smiths!, to help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

Thanks for visiting this web-site! We sincereely apprecaite your support.

Our family has been dispproprotionately effected by Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) - we have aunts, uncles, cousins and 3 of our five children/siblings who have T1DM. This disease hasn't stopped us from living life to the fullest, but it does make day to day living a challenge. Diabetes is manageable, but after a years of even the best glucose control there are inevtiable complications. These include: diabetic retinopathy and neuropathy with ultimate end-organ failure, blindness and/or amputation. These complications are what motivate us to FIND A CURE! We are determined to be the last generation to suffer from this illness and don't have to worry about passing it on to our children, nieces, nephews or cousins.

T1DM has effected our family in many ways, please see our personal pages for stories about why we are each motivated to help this cause and find a cure.  Thank you so much for your support. We sincerely appreciate any donation, regardless of amount. It all makes a difference.

Cheers to the relentless search for the cure! We won't give up and are grateful that you haven't either.
