Dear Family and Friends,

As you probably know, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on January 23, 2012.  It has been a challenge getting use to checking my blood sugar and changing pump and sensor sites.  After I was diagnosed, my Mom and Dad started researching about the disease and it's causes.  They learned that it just happens.....nothing can prevent you from getting T1D.  

After I was diagnosed I thought that I wouldn't be able to play sports.  But it didn't take long before I knew that T1D wouldn't slow me down or define me!!!!   T1D is a challenge.....a constant balancing act with insulin, exercise, counting carbs and checking blood sugars.  But I am determined to reach my dreams and goals all the same!!

So, this year I am inviting you to walk with KK's Krew at the JDRF Rock for a cure on February 16, 2013 at Crossroads Mall in Waterloo, Iowa.  If you can't make the walk you can make a donation to JDRF on this site for KK's Krew walk team.  I hope to see you at the walk.

Everyday I am hoping for a cure and one donation can make a difference.  I hope you will support my battle against Type 1 Diabetes.
