HI!
So, I am taking part in this event (JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes) on February 16 in Waterloo, IA in support of my best friend, Chelsi, who has type 1 diabetes. She has been struggling with T1D since she was 9 years old and it has affected every single part of her life. I know she is still young (22years old) so there are not as many complications, but T1D never goes away and I know that as she gets older, she is going to struggle more and more with this disease. I know I can't cure her now, but maybe through research there could eventually be a way.
This disease is terrifying and difficult to manage. It takes so much time, knowledge, understanding, and commitment - beyond the capacity of what a normal human being runs their life on. There is no autopilot when you are diabetic, you must always viligent because the consequences are deadly. I'm doing my best to learn more about T1D and to figure out how to care for it so that I can help Chelsi whenever possible, but it is one complicated disease. Chelsi is absolutely my favorite and I would do anything to help her and those like her that are suffering with the same disease.
Because of this I would appreciate it beyond belief if you would be willing to help support me in this endeavor by making a small donation. Anything from $100 to only $1 helps and it would be so amazingly appreciated. Just a small donation goes a long way in helping the millions of people suffering with Diabetes. Thank you soooo much for your support!
