Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! I'll be taking part in this year?s Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
I am asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help me make a huge difference for millions of people living with diabetes. Any amount you can afford is appreciated - anyone having used a piggy bank or a savings plan knows that all the small amounts we put in (and never miss) will add up to a sizable sum!
One of my closest friends (Juanita Brant) suffered most her life with diabetes. She never received the info or help she needed with it. My brother (Edwin Ireland) got diabetes in his later life and never came to grips with it. Both of the aforementioned people were heading for surgeries and further complications from advanced diabetes - but their lives ended before these horrible fates got to them.
I currently have a close friend (Ben Chase) who has recently found out he is living with this disease and now struggles with lifestyle changes and an unknown future. My brother-in-law's mother, Marge, also lives with diabetes. As I talk to people it is amazing how many people have someone close in their lives affected by this disease.
I want to make this walk in honor of the four people above and also to make a difference in the lives of the people (present and future) who are now - or will have to - struggle with diabetes.
I think most illnesses have cures. I also thing we have a lot of intellegent people and/or miracle workers in our presence who can discover and/or develop these cures. We can all help by getting money together to support their needed time and research to pursue this goal.
Did you know that:
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you for your support!
P.S. If you want to email me a story or picture of anyone you know with diabetes (past or present) I am putting together a collage and story exhibit and would love to include them - Thanks, Cindy
