Welcome to the Team D JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page! Team D....for Delaney, for Diabetes and for a Dream to find a cure!

On February 21, 2011 our daughter, Delaney, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) at 7 years old.  T1D is an autoimmune disease in which the pancreas stops producing insulin, a hormone that enables people to get energy from food. It can strike at any age and lasts a lifetime.

We are taking the steps to help achieve JDRF's mission: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.  The money our JDRF Walk Team raises will go directly to support this life-changing research.

The JDRF Walk is a fantastic way to make a difference in the millions of lives of people affected by type 1 diabetes.  We are asking for your support. Now more than ever, EACH of us can make a real difference in the lives of people with type 1 diabetes.

Just click on the 'Join this Team' button, make a donation and begin fundraising. It's simple, fast and fun!

We greatly appreciate your consideration and support of this most worthy cause.  We look forward to having as many people as possible join us on May 10 outside at NewBo Market in Cedar Rapids.  Even if you can't join us on the walk, we appreciate any and all donations made to support Team D as part of our overall fundraising.

Thank you for your support and see you on Walk day!
