Hello Family and Friends,
As many of you may know my husband Jake is a Type 1 Diabetic. He was diagnosed at the age of 8. On September 24, 2011 our youngest daughter, Camryn, was also diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. The past six months have been quite an adjustment for our whole family, especially for our sweet little 4 year old who's way of life has been forever altered. Camryn is such a remarkable little girl, who truly is my hero. There are not many people who could endure all she does in a day, all with a smile on her face never complaining.
Jake and Camryn are two of the strongest people I know. Everyday they continually demonstrate such strength as they deal with daily injections, insulin pumping, finger pricks, and counting carbs just to stay alive.
The advances in Diabetes care have come such a long way in the past few years. It is hard to imagine that less than 100 years ago children with T1D did not have much of a chance.
We hope that you would join us in both celebrating the strides in medicine that keep so many childeren alive with T1D and help in the efforts to reach a cure for this disease. Taking part in the Walk is a great experience. Not only do you get the satisfaction of helping JDRF make a difference in the lives of people with type 1 diabetes (T1D).
The money we raise will go to cure, treat and prevent T1D. We need your support, so please if you can - join our team or make a donation.
Thank you for your support!
