Welcome to Heidi's JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes personal fundraising page!
I'm a mom of a T1D (type 1 diabetic) and a big supporter of JDRF research.
I'm joining this year's Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of millions of people with type 1 diabetes (T1D). The money I raise will help JDRF advance its strategic research plan to end T1D.
T1D is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin, which the body needs to get energy from food. Managing the disease requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on insulin. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure.
JDRF is working every day to change that. And, as the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research, every dollar JDRF directs toward its research plan comes from donors like you.
This year is special. Collin has now managed the challenges of T1D for 10 years and while he's now a young adult, he doesn't get to outgrow the 'betes. Ten years ago some very special friends supported our family by contributing to JDRF in honor of my 40th birthday. Now 10 years later this mom is celebrating another significant birthday...are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Please support my commitment and donate to my Walk fundraising efforts today. Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease.
Thank you for your support!
